About the Event
A lot of folks have been asking for an ACT book for helping clients cope with trauma so for our final Book Club of the year we'll be reading Trauma-Focused ACT by Russ Harris. In this book you'll discover cutting-edge strategies for healing the past, living in the present, and building a new future. With this compassion-based, exposure-centered approach, you’ll learn how to help your clients:
- Find safety and security in their bodies
- Overcome hyperarousal and hypoarousal
- Break free from dissociation
- Shift from self-hatred to self-compassion
- Rapidly ground themselves and reengage in life
- Unhook from difficult cognitions and emotions
- Develop an integrated sense of self
- Resolve traumatic memories through flexible exposure
- Connect with and live by their values
- Experience post-traumatic growth
****Russ Harris will be joining for a 30 minute Q&A at the beginning of the book club so don't be late!*****
Join us for the final of three sessions for this book. An hour and a half to chat, connect, and grow.Â
This third session covers Chapters 19-34.
